Amplitude Ranking Tool

The calculation engine of the Amplitude Ranking Tool is driven by 15 questions related to different attributes of an amplitude supported prospect (like Contact relation to contours, AVO behavior, Model Match etc.).

The fifteen questions and the associated potential answers have been calibrated and tested against multiple dataset. These datasets show that application of the build-in logic results in a strong Risk Polarizations (75% of the samples show either a strong negative support, with a related strong Pos downgrade, or a strong positive support, with a related strong Pos upgrade).

The calculated Amplitude “Rank” can be used for a Bayesian update to modify a Prior geological risk into a Posterior Risk

User Interface

The User Interface of the Amplitude Ranking Tool consists of two parts:

  1. The Amplitude Ranking Form, which gives access to all the utilities that involve the risk assessment,

  2. The Excel Portfolio Database, which is used to manage a database where you can save, edit and retrieve Risk Evaluations.

The Form consists of a Navigation Panel (located at the top strip of the tool) and five data input and output panels, located below the navigation panel.
